I've recently completed SQE1. Is it too soon to continue to SQE2?
Not at all. Many candidates find that continuing into their SQE2 preparation soon after SQE1 helps them retain much of the FLK, which reduces study time and pressure later.
Do I need Qualifying Work Experience before taking SQE2?
No. You do not need to complete your Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) before sitting SQE2. Candidates can choose to take SQE2 before, during or after gaining their QWE.
How long should I prepare for SQE2?
Preparation time varies between candidates depending on experience, confidence and other commitments. Our Flexible and Accelerated options allow you to choose the study approach that best suits your circumstances.
Could I be exempt from the SQE2 assessment?
Exemptions from the SQE2 assessments are available to qualified lawyers from certain international jurisdictions. Apply for exemption through your mySRA account.
Can I sign up for SQE2 before I pass SQE1?
Yes, you can enrol for BARBRI SQE2 Prep before the results are released on 8 September. If you failed SQE1, let us know by 11 September and we'll put your SQE2 course on hold free of charge. After that date, our usual terms and conditions will apply (see clause 9) and a deferral admin fee will be payable.
