Submit a video with a chance to win a 50% SQE Complete Prep Flexible course scholarship. 

The skillset of the modern lawyer goes beyond technical legal knowledge. Emotional intelligence (EQ) is increasingly recognised as a vital asset in legal practice. This competition is your opportunity to explore the role of emotional intelligence in the legal profession and share your insights.

For a chance to secure the BARBRI x Legal Cheek SQE Scholarship, students should submit a video of no more than 5 minutes on the subject: “To what extent should emotional intelligence play a role in legal practice?” You should describe your own view as part of this discussion.

The successful candidate will receive a 50% discount on their BARBRI SQE Complete Prep Flexible fees for their course preparing for the January 2026 (SQE1) and July 2026 (SQE2) exams.

Please note that to be eligible, you must be in your a graduate and ready to take the SQE, joining only the applicable courses outlined below.

This offer applies to the SQE Complete Prep Flexible which includes:

• SQE1 Prep 40-week course, starting on 31 March 2025 (January 2026)

• SQE2 Prep 20-week course, starting on 16 March 2026 (July 2026)

How to apply:

• Register now and attend the Legal Cheek virtual event on Thursday 27 February 2025.

• Create a video response to the competition question, ensuring your video is no longer than 5 minutes.

• Upload your video to a platform that supports private sharing (such as YouTube unlisted, Vimeo unlisted, or Google Drive with a shareable link).

• Fill in the form on this page with your video submission link by Friday 14 March 2025. Alongside it, you must also submit the linked declaration to declare any use of Generative AI technology.

If you are successful, you will receive a coupon code to add to your enrolment form which will adjust your SQE1 fees by the awarded amount. Results will be out by Monday 24 March 2025.
